Most WooCommerce stores spend a lot to win a first order, then hope the customer comes back. A loyalty program gives them a reason to. The trouble is that many loyalty plugins keep the useful parts, like birthdays, referrals, tiers and expiry, behind a paid upgrade.

We built Myrvento Loyalty for WooCommerce to change that. It’s a free WooCommerce loyalty plugin that puts points, VIP tiers, rewards, referrals and store analytics into one plugin, and it’s now live on WordPress.org.

Disclosure: Myrvento Loyalty is made by Plugin Pros, the team behind this blog. We’ve tried to keep the comparison below fair. Every competitor detail comes from that plugin’s own WordPress.org listing.

Why a loyalty program matters for a WooCommerce store

Keeping a customer usually costs less than finding a new one. According to Harvard Business Review, getting a new customer can cost 5 to 25 times more than keeping an existing one. HBR also cites research by Frederick Reichheld of Bain & Company showing that a 5% increase in customer retention can raise profits by 25% to 95%.

A points program helps in three ways:

  • It gives shoppers a reason to come back. Points they haven’t spent yet feel like money waiting for them.
  • It rewards what you want more of, like reviews, account signups and referrals, not just orders.
  • It shows you who your best customers are.

What Myrvento Loyalty does

One wallet for every kind of point

Customers can earn points for purchases, product reviews, signups, a first purchase, birthdays, social shares, campaigns and referrals. All of it goes into one points ledger. Referral points don’t sit in a separate wallet, and there are no cash payouts, so customers see one simple balance.

You can add product and category bonus points on top of the purchase rate, plus dated campaign bonus points for promotions.

VIP tiers

The plugin creates four tiers when you activate it: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each tier can be based on spending, order count or lifetime points. Customers move up automatically. You choose whether they can move back down, and how long the downgrade window is.

Rewards paid from the same balance

Customers spend their points in My Account → Loyalty. Reward types include percentage discount, fixed discount, free shipping, free product, exclusive product, early product access, special pricing and VIP-only offers. You can limit any reward to a minimum VIP tier. When a coupon-type reward is redeemed, the plugin creates a WooCommerce coupon for the customer.

Referral campaigns

Each customer gets a referral link. From their account they can share it on WhatsApp, Facebook or X. You set first-order points, referee signup points, recurring points and the cookie length for each campaign. The Attribution card tracks clicks.

Gamification

The Gamification screen has a lifetime-points leaderboard. It also has achievement badges (orders, spending, reviews, referrals, points, streaks) and limited-time challenges, which show a progress bar in My Account.

Analytics beyond points

The Analytics and Revenue screens cover revenue trends, AOV, LTV, repeat purchases, cohort retention, churn, product profitability, campaign ROI, funnel conversion and attribution. A Sales screen lists abandoned carts, upsell and cross-sell pairs, and customers who haven’t ordered in 60 days or more.

Myrvento Brain predictions

Myrvento Brain (the AI menu) scores each customer’s churn risk, predicts their next purchase and highlights high-value customers. It also suggests prices and discounts and forecasts seasonal demand and inventory. These models run on your own store using your WooCommerce orders, so no API key is needed. Suggested prices are only suggestions and are never applied to products automatically. Optional narration through the WordPress AI Client is off by default.

How to set up Myrvento Loyalty (step by step)

You’ll need WordPress 6.0+, PHP 7.4+ and an active WooCommerce install. Your admin account needs the manage_woocommerce capability, which administrators and shop managers have.

Step 1: Install and activate

In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New and search for “Myrvento Loyalty”. You can also download the ZIP and upload it under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Then click Activate.

Step 2: Open the dashboard

You’ll see a new Myrvento Loyalty for WooCommerce menu in the sidebar. Its submenus are Dashboard, Points, Customers, VIP Tiers, Rewards, Gamification, Referrals, Sales, Operations, Analytics, Revenue, AI, Settings and Help. The Dashboard shows the last 30 days of revenue, abandoned carts and a demand forecast.

Step 3: Choose your basic settings

Go to Settings → Loyalty settings and set:

  • Points name: what customers see, for example “Stars” or “Coins”.
  • Earn on order status: Completed (the default) or Processing. If an order is cancelled or refunded, its points are taken back.
  • Allow VIP downgrades and the VIP downgrade window (days). The default window is 365 days.

Click Save settings.

Step 4: Review your earn rules

Open Points → Earn rules. The plugin comes with default rules, and you can change any of them:

RuleDefault
Purchase1 point per 1 unit of order subtotal
Product review50 points (when the review is approved)
Welcome / signup100 points
First purchase bonus200 points
Birthday reward100 points
Social sharing25 points

In Points expiration, set Expire unused points after (days). Enter 0 if points should never expire.

Step 5: Adjust VIP tiers and rewards

Under VIP Tiers, the default spending thresholds are 0, 250, 1,000 and 5,000, in your store’s currency. Change them to fit your prices. Under Rewards, three rewards are ready to go: 10% off (200 points), 5 off order (150 points) and Free shipping (100 points). Use Add reward to create more.

Step 6: Turn on referrals

Under Referrals, the default Refer a friend campaign gives 200 first-order points, 50 referee signup points and 50 recurring points, with a 30-day cookie. Change the numbers if you like, and leave it Enabled.

Step 7: Check the customer side

Log in as a test customer. Go to My Account → Loyalty and My Account → Referrals. Customers can add their birthday on the Loyalty tab. If either link shows a 404 error, go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save once. You can also place these screens on any page with the [myrvento_loyalty] and [myrvento_referral] shortcodes.

The fair summary: WP Swings and WPLoyalty have years of reviews, email notifications and checkout redemption, and Myrvento doesn’t have those yet. Where Myrvento stands out is how much comes free: birthdays, reviews, unlimited tiers, expiry, referrals and full store analytics all in one plugin, with no Pro version. If you need a proven plugin with emails today, pick one of the others. If you want the widest free feature set, try Myrvento.

Frequently asked questions

Is Myrvento Loyalty really free?

Yes. It’s a free WooCommerce loyalty plugin, GPL-licensed on WordPress.org, with no paid Pro version.

Does it need WooCommerce?

Yes. WooCommerce must be active, along with WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+. The plugin also supports WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS).

When do customers get points for an order?

When the order reaches the status you chose in Settings. Completed is the default. If the order is cancelled or refunded, its points are reversed.

Do referral points go into a separate balance?

No. Purchases, reviews, signups, birthdays, social shares, campaigns and referrals all add to the same points ledger. There are no cash payouts.

Does Myrvento Brain need an AI API key?

No. Churn, next-purchase, pricing and demand models all run on your own store. The optional narration feature uses the WordPress AI Client and whichever provider you’ve connected. The plugin never stores a provider key.

Why are my reports empty?

Reports only count paid WooCommerce orders. A new store with no paid orders will show empty screens until sales come in.
